"Arizona"

On the final day of summer
Thought I heard a little thunder in the wind
Turned my eyes to find you frightened
Looks like you’ve been struck by lightning once again
You said you never had been colder
You’ve been feeling so much older than you are
And the dessert has been calling
To cash in upon that wish you made last fall

Arizona, wish you were a little closer right now
Arizona, wish you were a little closer right now

When you said that you were leaving
And I said I didn’t care, it was a lie
Got my mind made up this evening
Got my suitcase packed up in the car outside
Gonna drive all night to find you
Gonna let me love light blind you once again
On the map it’s sixteen hours
But I’m sure that I could make it there in ten

Arizona, wish you were a little closer right now
Arizona, wish you were a little closer right now

The dessert moon at night
Coyote silhouettes
They sing as if to say
I haven’t lost you yet
Across the land I ride
Baby I’m on my way

Arizona, wish you were a little closer right now
Arizona, wish you were a little closer right now
